Registration of business activity in Slovakia is not complicated. In some types of activity you have to prove qualifications, work experience and obtain license. License is required for: production, repair, recycling and sales of weapon, ammunition and explosives, services connected with aircraft, transportation, money exchange, security, auctions, veterinary, burial services and courier services.
Activity of natural persons from EU does not require entry in the Trade Register, it is voluntary. For legal persons it is obligatory. Registration is done be authorized clerks.
Trade Registers for legal persons are place in the local district courts. For the entry of plc one has to pay 20 000 Slovak crowns, entry of other legal person – 10 000 Slovak crowns.
In case of natural persons, the correct court is the one nearest to the place of activity, or nearest to home address. Natural persons must pay for registration 5000 Slovak crowns.
